Dan Hickman during the
stick relay race. One at a time a team of 10 players skated the
length of the ice with their stick. When they got back to
the starting line they handed their stick off to another player
who had to skate the same distance with both sticks. The
final player on the team had to skate with all ten sticks.
The first team to complete the relay and sit on the ice was the
winner. This event does not display any particular skill
but it was very entertaining for the fans and the players seemed
to have fun doing it also. |

Wray gives Mcnab a shove
but you can see Kwon above for the white team slide into the
picture. Team White won the race because all their players
were sitting on the ice while some Team Blue players were still
standing. |

During intermission we
were treated to a fantastic guitar solo by goalie Michael
Dilorenzo. He
is a great guitar player and it sounded good over the arena's sound
system. When he completed his song, the players just off
the ice encouraged him to play an encore. He was trying
to think of something else to play and all of a sudden the stool
he was sitting on collapsed and down he went guitar and all.
The players off ice busted out in laughter. I do not know
and can't say for sure but I would not be surprised if he was
the victim of some team mate prank. Looking back at the pics now you can see at least one leg support clearly
disconnected. Reguardless, it's a shame he did not play
another song. He really was pretty darn good! |
