Elmira, NY – The Elmira Jackals announced today that their 2006-07 Home and UHL Season Opener Friday October 13th will feature a Hollywood-style Movie Premiere Pre Game Party!
The Elmira Jackals will Kick Off the 2006-2007 Hockey Season with a Bang Friday night, October 13th at the First Arena. The festivities begin at 4:30 pm with a Block Party on Main Street, in front of the Arena, as authorities will be blocking off the street for the event. The Jackals Block Party will feature the popular local band BRIAN AND JOE performing live, along with Bobby K Blowup entertainment for the kids, all the local radio stations will be broadcasting live from the Arena and there will also be local TV reports live from Main Street.
Then, beginning at 5:00 pm the 2006-2007 Elmira Jackals will begin arriving at the Red Carpet that will be rolled out at the First Arena. The players will be dressed in Tuxedos from Bonjulie’s and will be driven in Limousines courtesy of Silk Limousine. Come down to enjoy the live music and to support the new look Jackals as they begin their quest towards the UHL’s Colonial Cup!
“The time has come for the beginning of a new era of Jackals hockey,” said General Manager Robbie S. Nichols. “We want everyone to come down to experience some of the fun, new, exciting activities that we have planned. The Elmira Jackals and First Arena staff has worked hard in preparation for the home opener and now that day is upon us. We look forward to celebrating the start of a new season of Jackals hockey with the entire community on Friday night.”
In other news, the Jackals will be appearing at Center Court of the Arnot Mall on Wednesday, October 11 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for a Meet the Team autograph session. The full Jackals roster is scheduled to attend the promotion.
The Jackals open the 2006-07 UHL season with their home opener at the First Arena as they host the defending Colonial Cup Champion Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 13th at 7:35 pm. They will also face off against the Wings on Sunday October 15th at 4:05 pm in Elmira.
