10/10/06 Have you ever been to a Hollywood Premier? Well now's your chance. Sort of. Today the Jackals announced that opening night will be done "Hollywood Style". There is a huge block party planned beginning at 4:30 outside First Arena. Much more is planned.

10/06/06 Tonight the Jackals held the skills competition at First Arena and fans were invited to view the activities at no cost. Season ticket holders were also allowed to pick up their season ticket booklets tonight. The competition was entertaining to say the least. The players participated in "fastest skater" "puck handling" "hockey stick relay" "accurate shooting" and a "shootout" competition. There was even intermission entertainment as one of the goalies played a guitar solo to the delight of the crowd (you have to check out the pictures to see his encore). Tomorrow night is the intra squad game as "Team Blue" takes on "Team White". Come on down to the arena to see your 06-07 Elmira Jackals in action as we all gear up for opening night next Friday!

10/02/06 Jackals Training camp opened yesterday with various off ice activities. Today they hit the ice for the first time in two sessions. The first group was wearing the white jerseys and the second group wore the blue jerseys. At 3:00 the two squads faced off for a scrimmage game. Here are some photos from camp.
09/25/06 Today First Arena Staff began the process of laying down the ice on the Jackals main rink. Photos of the staff applying paint to the ice.
09/19/06 Today was the Jackals big Press Conference at Pioneer Sports Bar & Grill. First of all, the Jackals announced that the Pioneer Sports Bar & Grill has come on board and will host the Elmira Jackals Coach's Show on Monday nights this season. The Coach's Show will air live from the Pioneer Monday Nights at 6PM on WENY 1230 AM & 1450 AM and will be hosted by The Jackals Radio Voice Owen Newkirk and will feature interviews with Jackals Head Coach Kris Waltze and several Jackals players. The show will also be available live over the internet via the Jackals Web Site.
Secondly, Robbie Nichols has announced that the First Arena will host Country Star Dierks Bently with special guests Miranda Lambert and Randy Rogers Band on Thursday October 19 at 7:30 PM.
Next the Jackals announced that they have teamed up with Route 81 Radio to host the Jackals Hockey Radio Broadcasts on Magic 92.7 and 97.7 FM for the entire 06-07 season. Route 81 Radio boasts broadcast coverage from Binghamton to Hornell! GREAT NEWS for ALL Jackals fans from far and wide!
Finally, the Jackals have announced the signing of three more players. Jan Skvarka, Milan Maslonka and Dale Lupul. This announcement brings the total players signed for training camp to 27 so far.

09/15/06 The Elmira Jackals announced today that they will hold a major press conference September 19, 2006 at the Pioneer Sports Bar & Grill to make several announcements regarding the upcoming 2006-07 Jackals season.
09/14/06 Today the Jackals have announced they have signed four more players for the upcoming season. The Jackals have inked forward Marc Lefebvre along with rookie forwards Brant Becker, Brad Mcnab and David Poulin. Click here to read the official Jackals press release concerning these new players. 09/13/06 This afternoon the Jackals have announced their preseason schedule and training camp dates. Camp opens on October 1st and all on ice sessions will take place on the Main Rink and will be open to the public. Friday evening October 6th Jackals fans are invited to a special skills competition at 7:35. THERE IS NO ADMISSION BEING CHARGED FOR THE SKILLS COMPETITION! NADA, NONE, ZIP, IT'S A FREEBIE!!! What a great opportunity for you to see what this year's players have to offer. Come on down to the arena and bring a friend or two. On Saturday night there will be a blue white intra-squad game also starting at 7:35 $4.00 for adults $2.00 for children and seniors. 09/12/06 The Elmira Jackals have acquired goaltender Kris Tebbs from Muskegon in return for Brent Angel. The team has also signed goalie Michael Dilorenzo for the upcoming season. This is great news for Jackals Fans! Click here to read the complete PR from the Jackals.
