Jackals Announce Exhibition Schedule

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today their exhibition game schedule for the Jackals 2006 Preseason.

The Jackals have finalized their plans for the 2006 UHL Preseason.  According to the United Hockey League rules and regulations, the Jackals' first official day for Training Camp is October 1, 2006.  Players will begin arriving for camp on or before September 30th.  On October 6th, 2006 the Jackals will hold a special Skill Competition at 7:35 pm at the First Arena and on October 7th, the Jackals will hold a Blue versus White Intra-Squad Exhibition Game, also at 7:35 pm.

On Friday, October 6th, the Jackals are inviting the public to join the team for an exciting test of talent and athleticism with their 2006 Jackals Skills Competition.  The doors open at 6:35 pm to the Main Rink at First Arena and the contest will begin at 7:35 pm.  ADMISSION IS FREE FOR EVERYONE!!  The Skills Competition is set to be a thrilling test of hockey talent for all of the players on the Training Camp roster.  It will also provide the Jackals hockey staff and fans alike with an evaluation of individual skill.  Also, Voice of the Jackals Owen Newkirk and Public Address Announcer Mike Strobel will be on the ice to interview players during the events and the Jackals will be available for autographs after the Skills Competition concludes.

On Saturday, October 7th, the First Arena will host the Jackals 2006 Blue vs. White Exhibition game.  The contest will be a regulation time, intra-squad game with the doors opening at 6:35 pm and the opening face off scheduled for 7:35 pm.  2006-2007 Elmira Jackals Season Ticket Holders and Suite Holders will receive FREE ADMISSION to the game.  Tickets for the general public are available at the following prices: $4 for Adults, $2 for Children and Seniors.  Not only will the Blue/White game be an exciting night of hockey action, but also it will be perhaps to biggest single evaluation for players trying to make the Jackals 2006-07 roster.  Unlike the Skills Competition the night before, the Exhibition Game will also provide an assessment of the players' team skills.

"These two evenings are a great chance for the fans to see the pre-season Jackals up close and personal," said General Manager Robbie S. Nichols.  "They will get to see the players competing in a real game situation on October 7th, which will also provide Coach Waltze and me an opportunity to evaluate our players."

The Jackals 2006 Training Camp officially begins on October 1st, 2006.  All on-ice sessions during training camp will be conducted on the Main Arena at the First Arena and all sessions will be open to the public.  A complete schedule for Training Camp will be available at a later date.
